About Working With a Therapist for Women
FAQs
How much does therapy cost?
Bee-You Counseling is a private pay practice. Fees are discussed during your free consultation, along with your out-of-network benefit options, which can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket cost. Many clients are reimbursed $55–$105 per session through their insurance. All major credit cards, FSA, and HSA are accepted.
Do you take insurance?
I don't bill insurance directly. That's a deliberate choice made in your interest. Insurance billing requires a diagnosis on your permanent medical record, allows third parties to access your session information, and lets non-clinicians limit your care. Private pay keeps all of that between you and me. That said, if your plan has out-of-network benefits, you may still be reimbursed for a significant portion of each session. I provide a superbill after every session, and Mentaya (the tool on this page) checks your benefits in 30 seconds and handles all claims submission for you.
I've been paying insurance premiums for years. Why would I pay out of pocket?
That frustration makes sense. A few things worth knowing: if you have a high-deductible plan, you're likely already paying full price until your deductible is met, which for most people is January through spring. And if your plan has out-of-network benefits, the gap between private pay and a copay may be much smaller than you think. The Mentaya widget on this page will show you your actual numbers in under a minute.
I've never done therapy before. I usually just handle things on my own.
That tracks. If you're here, you've probably been handling things on your own for a very long time. That's not a character flaw, it's what you learned to do. Therapy isn't about having someone fix things for you. It's about finally having somewhere to put it all down, with someone who isn't going to need you to hold theirs too.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes, virtual and in-person. Same quality of care either way. Virtual sessions work especially well for clients who are already stretched thin and don't need one more commute on their calendar.
How do I know if you're the right fit?
The only real way to know is to have a conversation. The free 15-minute compatibility call exists for exactly that, no pressure, no commitment, just a chance to ask questions and see if this feels right. If it turns out I'm not the right person, I'll do my best to point you somewhere that is.
How often will we meet?
Most clients start weekly to build momentum and give the work somewhere to go. As things shift, we adjust. Biweekly works well for some people; others stay weekly. There's no formula. We'll figure out what actually fits your life.
